At this newly built small university, foreigners can study Theravada Buddhism free of charge (including meals and accommodation in single rooms on the university campus) for one or more years.
Application and entrance examination, which tests English proficiency and basic Buddhist knowledge, either on site or at the Burmese embassy of the respective country.
Subjects: Sutta, Vinaya, Abhidhamma, Pali, Burmese, History, Meditation (Vipassana). Start of studies in June (?). 2 semesters per year. Semester breaks: 1-2 months
