Arrival: Best by taxi from Bangkok to Lam Luk Ka, Klong 11, before the bridge over Klong 11 turn left and drive straight ahead (approx. 4 km) until the sign Wat Pa Charoenrat Dhammaram appears on the left, then turn left and after approx. 400 m you will see the temple.
Description: Pathumthani Province borders Bangkok. From the new Suvarnabhumi Airport it is a 50-minute taxi ride to the temple. The temple grounds cover 6 Rai of land and are surrounded by rice fields. Morning and evening chanting and meditation take place in the main hall. During the day, meditations take place in an open hall. All buildings are surrounded by lotus ponds.
Tradition and Teachers: Phra Acharn MahaVeeranantha, Phra Acharn Songkran
Meditation Technique: Observing the rising and falling of the abdomen (Mahasi Sayadaw technique), walking meditation in 6 stages, and individual techniques considered appropriate for the respective practitioners.
Rules: All participants are asked to observe the eight precepts (moral training rules), to bring white clothing or borrow it at the temple (sometimes there is a lack of very large sizes).
Daily Schedule:
04:00: bell rings
04:20: morning chanting, then
07:00: breakfast
08:00: walking and sitting meditation
10:00: bell rings for meal, mindful eating
12:30: walking and sitting meditation
16:00: Metta
17:00: evening chanting and meditation
19:00: evening drinks, walking and sitting meditation until 9pm
Accommodation: There are some individual kutis and dormitories for women and men.
To Bring: It is recommended to bring a flashlight and mosquito repellent.
